The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional cricket league T20 in India contested during March or April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different states in India. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was the founder of this IPL League in 2008. The IPL has another window in the ICC Future Tours Program.





In 2010, the IPL became the first-ever sporting event in the world
to be broadcast live on YouTube history.
The estimated value of the IPL 2019 was 475 Billion Rupees(US$6.9 billion),
according to Duff &
Phelps
. According to the BCCI, the 2015 IPL League
season contributed ₹11.5 billion(US$170 million) to the GDP of the Indian economy.





There are 12 seasons of the IPL tournament. The current 2019 IPL title holders are the Mumbai Indians.





Mumbai Indians Win 2019 IPL




The Indian Cricket League (ICL) was founded in 2007, Zee Entertainment Enterprises give funding to ICL. The ICL was not recognized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the BCCI. To keep players from joining the ICL, the BCCI expanded the prize cash in their own household competitions and furthermore forced lifetime bans on players joining the ICL, which was viewed as an agitator association.





On the
date of 21 March 2010, it was announced that two new franchises Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.





Pune Warriors India withdrew the IPL on the date of 21 May 2013 because of financial differences with the BCCI Board. The franchise was officially terminated by the BCCI board, on 26 Oct 2013, on account of the franchise failing to provide the necessary bank guarantee.





On the date of14 June 2015, it was announced that two-time champions, Chennai Super Kings, and champions Rajasthan Royals, would be suspended for two seasons for their role in a match-fixing and betting scandal in IPL. Pune and Rajkot would replace Chennai and Rajasthan for two seasons





As of now, with eight groups, each group plays each other’s twice in a home-and-away cooperative configuration in the League stage.





Rules





In the league stage, the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs The best two groups from the league will play against each other’s in the principal Qualifying match the champ going directly to the IPL last and the failure getting another opportunity to meet all requirements for the IPL last by playing the subsequent Qualifying match.





In the meantime, the third and fourth spot groups from alliance stage play against one another in an eliminator coordinate and the champ from that match will play the failure from the principal Qualifying match. The victor of the subsequent Qualifying match will move onto the last to play the victor of the primary Qualifying match in the IPL Final match, where the champ will be delegated the Indian Premier League champions.

Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the IPL league's history in terms of the number of titles that have won. The Chennai Super Kings have won 3 titles], the Kolkata Knight Riders have won two titles, the other three teams who have won the tournament are the Deccan ChargersRajasthan Royals and Sunrise’s Hyderabad.





The current 2019 champions are Mumbai Indians who played with Chennai Super Kings in the final of the 2019 IPL season.





Rajasthan Royals the first team that wins IPL in 2008. Deccan was in 2009. Chennai Super Kings were in 2010 and 2011. Kolkata Knight Riders were in 2012. Mumbai Indians were in 2013. Kolkata Knight Riders were in 2014. In 2015 Mumbai Indians. Sunriser's Hyderabad was in 2016. Mumbai Indians again in 2017. Chennai Super Kings were in 2018 and once again Mumbai Indians win in 2019.

Sponsorships





DLF was the sponsor from 2008 to 2012, India's largest real estate developer, which had secured the rights for  ₹2 billion (US$29 million) for the five Leagues.





After the 2012 season, PepsiCo bought the sponsorship rights for ₹3.97 billion (US$57 million) for the five IPL Leagues. The PepsiCo company terminated the deal in Oct 2015, 2 years before the expiry of the contract, Someone says due to the two-season suspension of Chennai and Rajasthan franchises from the IPL league. Then BCCI gives sponsorship rights for the remaining two League seasons to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo for ₹1.9 billion (US$27 million). Then VIVO continued this contract to 2022 with a winning bid of ₹21.99 billion (US$320 million)

IPL Council





The Indian Premier League Governing Council is responsible for all the functions of the tournament. The members are Rajeev ShuklaAjay ShirkeSourav GangulyAnurag Thakur and Anirudh Chaudhary. In January 2016, the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha Committee to recommend separate governing bodies for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League (IPL), where Justice RM Lodha suggested a One State-One Member pattern for the board.
